Project description: In this project we build a Cross-Linguistic Database Platform, which aims at helping linguists to make better use of existing information about the grammatical structures of the world's languages. The platform should be available to a broad group of users, so that they can make use of it for existing and novel databases. The solution should be generic as to allow other institutions in- and outside the Max Planck Society which work on similar data and similar research questions to use the infrastructure, to adapt or extend it in order to fit their special needs. The project is also expected to be a major contribution to standardization efforts in this field.
